This post is about The Bastion Point Occupation reading task we did this week. The Bastion point is about Nagti Whatua and the iwi protesting about their land because the government stole their land. Then In January 1997 Jow Hawke led the protesting. But at the end of the story the government gave Nagti Whatua and the iwi got $3 million dollars and some land in compensation. Now Joe Hawke is happy that the Bastion Point is Maori land again.
